THE RISE & RISE OF BARBER OSGERBY
Last Year’s Jerwood prize winners, and rising stars Barber Osgerby have collaborated with Pantone to produce a limited edition version of their original Flight Stool. Two stools in each of 48 colours will be exhibited and sold in ‘Color by Numbers’ at the Blue Gallery in London next week. The stools will cost around £400 (US $705) each and are already achieving cult status with a clever visual play on the iconic chips that have made Pantone synonymous with color specification.
Barber Osgerby have had a tremendous year already; The Ipsei bottle designed for Coca Cola will be launching in the UK later in the Summer and the designers are part of the hot, new English manufacturing and design group Established and Sons – the launch collection included their aluminium Zero-in table. The next project for Barber Osgerby is the design of all the furniture at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea, the new centre for the arts which will re-open in September. visite www.barberosgerby.com
